MARTIN CLIFFORD SENTENCED TO 21 YEARS FOR SEX OFFENCES IN SLOUGH AND HORLEY

In a significant development in the fight against sexual crimes, Martin Clifford, a 45-year-old man from Chatfield, Slough, has been handed a lengthy prison sentence following his conviction for multiple historic sex offences. The case, which was thoroughly investigated by Thames Valley Police, culminated in Clifford being sentenced to 21 years behind bars on Wednesday, October 2nd.

Clifford's trial at Reading Crown Court lasted nine days, during which a jury unanimously found him guilty of 14 separate counts related to his past actions. The charges included five counts of Indecency with a Child under the age of 14, as well as five counts of Indecent Assault on a Male Person under 16. Additionally, he faced two counts of Indecent Assault on a girl under 16, and two counts of Rape of a Child under 16.

The offences spanned a period from 1988 to 1997 and took place in the towns of Slough and Horley, Surrey. The victims, four in total, were all minors at the time of the incidents, which have now been brought to justice after years of investigation.

Clifford was formally charged on February 15 of this year, and after a comprehensive legal process, he was convicted on September 26. The court's decision reflects the serious nature of his crimes and the impact on the victims, emphasizing the importance of justice for those affected by such heinous acts.
