SHEFFIELD MAN JAILED FOR VILE ONLINE CHILD ABUSE
A convicted voyeur named Martin, aged 54, has been sentenced to three years and six months in prison for engaging in sexualised messaging with an undercover officer posing as a teenage girl.The court revealed that Martin started messaging a decoy named Molly, pretending to be 13 years old, and quickly entered into a highly sexualized conversation.
He referenced "sharing" Molly with a friend and asked if she wanted to be used as a sex toy, also urging her to perform a sex act on herself.
During the investigation, authorities seized multiple devices from his home, which contained extreme pornographic images and 48 indecent images across categories A, B, and C.
Among these was evidence of distribution of a Category A image.
Martin admitted to speaking with someone he believed to be 13 but claimed he was feeling very low and sexually hyper during the chat.
The court noted that he was aware his actions could get him into trouble, and he terminated communication when he realized authorities might be monitoring.
The judge indicated that Martin's criminal conduct was serious, and he also had prior convictions for filming a woman through her shower and performing sex acts on her underwear.
As part of his sentence, Martin will serve half his term in prison, be subject to notification requirements, and a sexual harm prevention order.
Mitigating circumstances highlighted his troubled background, involvement with mental health issues, and previous trauma, but the court emphasized the gravity of his offenses.
