MARK THEED FROM AYLESBURY SENTENCED AFTER HORRIFIC CAT CRUELTY SCENE IN HIS FLAT

In a disturbing case that has shocked the local community of Aylesbury, Mark Theed, a resident with addresses previously listed as Priory Crescent and more recently Oakfield Road, was found guilty of severe animal neglect and cruelty. The incident came to light when authorities responded to reports of him selling kittens in the town centre, prompting an investigation into his living conditions.

Upon entering Theed's one-bedroom flat, authorities were met with a distressing sight: a total of 19 cats living in squalid and unsanitary conditions. The environment was so deplorable that police immediately contacted the RSPCA to intervene. Inspector Jaime Godfrey, who attended the scene, described the conditions as appalling. She revealed that one of the cats, named Georgie, was suffering from a large, infected wound across his head, which was the result of a fight with another feline. The wound had become severely infected and was not healing, likely causing Georgie significant pain.

Inspector Godfrey further explained that the cats were kept in a cramped space filled with urine-soaked bedding and litter trays overflowing with urine. The situation was compounded by the presence of a rotting kitten corpse found in the bathroom, highlighting the neglect and poor hygiene standards. The cats were all unneutered, which contributed to the frequent fighting and aggressive behavior among them. The conditions of the flat were described as extremely unpleasant, with a strong smell of urine permeating the entire space.

Following the intervention, all of the cats were taken into the care of the RSPCA and have since been rehomed to loving families. The case drew significant attention to the importance of animal welfare and the consequences of neglect.

In terms of legal repercussions, Mark Theed was sentenced to 120 hours of unpaid community work and received a ten-year ban on keeping any animals. This case underscores the serious penalties associated with animal cruelty in the region.

Additionally, in a separate incident reported by Heart Radio in October 2020, Theed, then aged 59 and still residing on Oakfield Road, was convicted of assault by beating. He was fined £180, ordered to pay £100 in compensation, and required to cover £200 in court costs. These combined legal actions reflect the ongoing efforts to address both animal cruelty and personal misconduct by Theed in Aylesbury.
