March 2008 Indecent images man jailed A 36-YEAR-OLD man who downloaded “disgusting” indecent images of children has been given a four-month jail term. Unemployed Mark Sutton, of Chalice Way, Greenhithe, had pleaded not guilty to 11 charges of making indecent photographs of children. However, a jury at Maidstone Crown Court convicted him of eight charges relating to 82 indecent images. Jailing Sutton on March 3, Judge Stanley Spence said: “What you did was to download despicable, disgraceful pictures, depicting children in sexual attitudes. They are truly disgusting.” The judge banned Sutton from owning and accessing computer equipment for five years. Sutton was also put on the Sex Offenders’ Register for five years. Quentin Hunt, for Sutton, had asked the judge to impose a suspended sentence because he believed jail would have a shattering impact on his client.
