MARK KIRBY FROM LEEK CAUGHT WITH HUNDREDS OF CHILD PORN IMAGES AND VIDEOS IN SHOCKING CASE
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Leek, Staffordshire, 30-year-old Mark Kirby was found to be in possession of an extensive collection of indecent images and videos depicting children. The police raid, carried out in April 2017, uncovered a troubling cache of digital material stored on multiple devices within Kirby’s residence in Glebeville, Leek.During the search, officers seized several CDs and DVDs, some of which were protected by passwords. One such password was revealed to be 'I love Child Porn,' indicating a disturbing level of premeditation and intent. The investigation revealed that the collection included hundreds of images, along with 29 videos spread across three discs. Some of these images depicted children as young as two or three years old, highlighting the severity and depravity of the material involved.
The court proceedings, held at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court, detailed the extent of Kirby’s offenses. Prosecutor Kevin Jones explained that the police had conducted the raid on April 20, 2017, and had seized various digital devices, including password-protected discs. The evidence presented showed that Kirby had created folders containing these illicit images, and he refused to disclose the passwords initially, which later were found to include the phrase 'I love CP.'
In a court ruling that reflected the gravity of the crimes, Judge Paul Glenn sentenced Kirby to a three-year community order. The judge emphasized the disturbing nature of the images, noting that some of the children depicted were as young as two or three years old. Additionally, Kirby was issued a five-year sexual harm prevention order, which restricts him from engaging in activities involving children and adults that could pose a risk.
Judge Glenn also warned Kirby that any breach of the community order would result in imprisonment. As part of his sentence, Kirby is required to attend a sex offenders’ programme and pay costs amounting to £250. The case has left the local community in shock, raising concerns about the safety and protection of children in the area of Leek.
