MARK FORTE FROM SWINDON CAUGHT LIVING NEAR PLAY PARK AFTER CHILD SEX OFFENCE CONVICTION
In September 2020, residents of Swindon were alarmed when notices warning of a convicted paedophile living nearby began appearing at a local children’s play park. These notices, affixed to lampposts, fences, and gates within the park, explicitly stated: “Warning!
A convicted paedophile is living in this area.” It was later confirmed that the individual in question was Mark Forte, a 52-year-old man residing on Cunningham Road in Swindon.
Forte had recently pleaded guilty to serious charges related to child sexual offences, including encouraging the commission of a child sex offence and the distribution of an indecent image of a child.
The notices, which are unofficial and not sanctioned by authorities, displayed Forte’s full name, his residential address, and details about his vehicle, aiming to alert the community to his presence.
The notices first appeared around the play area and baseball court situated between Tovey Road and Pinehurst Road, suggesting an attempt by local residents or concerned community members to warn others about Forte’s residence.
A QR code was also included on the notices, providing a direct link to more information about Forte’s recent conviction, which was processed at Swindon Crown Court.
Forte is scheduled to be sentenced in October, and the community remains on alert as the legal proceedings continue.
Earlier in August 2020, Forte was involved in another disturbing incident that drew public and legal attention.
He appeared before Swindon Crown Court after admitting to encouraging a child sex offence and distributing an indecent image of a child.
The court heard that Forte had been communicating with another individual, known only by the username Ravman1, via the Kik messaging app in late 2015.
During their conversations, Forte sent the other user an indecent image of a child, claiming he did so “to keep him going.” Prosecutor Mary Cowe outlined these details during the hearing, emphasizing the severity of Forte’s actions.
Judge Peter Crabtree ordered a pre-sentence report and granted Forte bail, with a court date set for October 1 for sentencing.
The judge made it clear that the case was serious, stating, “The starting point is undoubtedly custody, but I’m going to ask probation to have a word with you.
They’ll look at the other options.
I make absolutely no promises to you at all.” The case highlights the ongoing concerns within the Swindon community regarding Forte’s activities and the potential risk posed by his presence in the area.
