MARK DUTHIE FROM LEVEN SENTENCED FOR POSSESSING EXTREME CHILD PORNOGRAPHY AND ANIMAL SEX IMAGES IN FIFE
In a case that has shocked the local community of Leven, a man named Mark Duthie has been found guilty of possessing highly disturbing and illegal images, including indecent photographs of children and explicit material involving animals. The offences span over a period of more than two years, during which Duthie engaged in the illicit collection and storage of these disturbing images.According to court records, Duthie, aged 30 and residing at Greenfield View in Leven, admitted to possessing indecent images of children between December 9, 2013, and February 17 of the following year. These images were stored at his home, which was the scene of the police investigation. Furthermore, he confessed to possessing extreme pornography depicting adults engaging in sexual acts with animals, with these images being kept from August 17, 2015, up until February 17 of the previous year.
The case was brought before Dunfermline Sheriff Court, where depute fiscal Claire Bremner provided details of the police operation. A search warrant was executed at Duthie’s residence on February 17, during which law enforcement officers found and seized a mobile phone and a laptop. Both devices contained indecent images of children, confirming the allegations against him.
During police interviews, Duthie did not deny the charges. Instead, he made a full confession, revealing that he had actively searched for these images for sexual gratification. He also admitted to communicating with like-minded individuals through a messaging application, indicating a broader network of individuals involved in similar illicit activities.
The court’s decision was handed down by Sheriff Craig McSherry, who sentenced Duthie to a community payback order. This order includes three years of supervised probation, during which Duthie will be required to participate in a group work programme aimed at rehabilitation. Additionally, he will be registered as a sex offender for the same period, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities and compliance with the law.
