In a case that has shocked the local community of Larkfield and the wider Maidstone area, Mark Dean, aged 45, was sentenced to a significant prison term after being found guilty of grooming and engaging in sexual activities with a teenage boy. The court proceedings revealed disturbing details about Dean’s predatory conduct, which spanned over a period during which he targeted a vulnerable young victim.

Mark Dean, residing on Coleridge Close in Larkfield, faced multiple charges related to his inappropriate behavior. He was accused of causing a child to engage in sexual activity on two occasions and participating in four instances of sexual activity with a minor. Despite initially denying these allegations, Dean was convicted after a trial, and his legal representatives acknowledged that he had now come to accept his guilt.

The sentencing hearing at Maidstone Crown Court painted a troubling picture of Dean’s actions. Prosecutor Tanya Robinson outlined how Dean had lured the teenage boy into his circle through various activities, including taking him out on speedboats and inviting him to his home. It was also revealed that Dean showed the boy pornographic films, which served as part of his grooming process. The culmination of these manipulative actions led to Dean engaging in full sexual intercourse with the young victim.

Robinson emphasized that Dean’s behavior was calculated and predatory, with the Crown asserting that he was grooming the boy for sexual exploitation. During the sentencing, Recorder Christopher Wilson highlighted Dean’s clear pattern of predatory behavior towards teenage boys.
