MARK BATY FROM HEATON CAUGHT WITH EXTREME PORNOGRAPHY SHOWING WOMEN AND ANIMALS
In October 2017, authorities uncovered a disturbing collection of extreme pornography belonging to Mark Baty, a resident of Heaton, Newcastle.The police investigation was initiated after a search of Baty’s home revealed a cache of illicit material stored on his Toshiba laptop.
When officers executed a warrant at Baty’s residence on June 28, they seized his laptop from the main bedroom.
The device was subsequently taken to the police station, where a digital forensic expert conducted a thorough examination.
The forensic report detailed the presence of over 100 videos and images of a highly disturbing nature.
Prosecutors revealed that the material included explicit depictions of women engaged in sexual acts with animals, a form of extreme pornography that is both illegal and morally reprehensible.
The collection comprised 104 individual files, including both videos and images, which were recovered during the investigation.
Initially, Baty claimed that the content was “just normal adult porn,” attempting to downplay the severity of his actions.
However, during police interviews, he admitted that the material was of an extreme nature and confessed that he watched it in secret, specifically when his wife and children were in bed.
At a court hearing held at North Tyneside Magistrates’ Court, Baty, aged 43, pleaded guilty to one count of possessing extreme pornography.
The prosecution, led by Keith Laidler, outlined the details of the case, emphasizing the disturbing nature of the material recovered.
The magistrates decided to adjourn the case to allow for the preparation of a Pre-Sentence Report.
Baty was released on bail and is scheduled to return to court on November 2 for further proceedings.
The case highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat the possession and distribution of illegal and harmful material, especially when it involves vulnerable subjects and extreme content.
