MAN HUNTED IN MANCHESTER AFTER 13-YEAR-OLD BOY OFFERED CASH FOR SEXUAL ACTS

A man is currently being sought by police authorities in Manchester following a disturbing incident involving a teenage boy. The 13-year-old boy was traveling on a tram when he was approached by an unidentified man, leading to a series of troubling events that have prompted a significant police investigation.

On the night of Wednesday, September 12, shortly after 11:30 pm, the young boy boarded a tram at the Clayton Hall Metrolink stop, heading towards Droylsden. During the journey, he was befriended by a man whose identity remains unknown. The two disembarked together at Droylsden, where the man then engaged the boy in conversation, suggesting they go to see gargoyles at the nearby St Mary’s Church.

Once they arrived at the church, the man made inappropriate sexual advances towards the boy. He asked the young teenager to touch him sexually. The boy refused to comply with this request. In response, the man offered to touch the boy himself and even proposed to pay him cash if he agreed to the act. The boy again declined, refusing to participate in any sexual activity.

It is important to note that no physical assault occurred during this encounter. However, the incident is being treated by authorities as an incitement to engage in sexual activity with a minor, which is a serious criminal offense.

In an effort to apprehend the suspect, police have released CCTV footage showing a man they wish to speak with. The footage depicts the individual boarding the tram at New Islington station before alighting with the boy at Droylsden. The suspect is described as a white male, approximately between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 11 inches tall, with a chubby build. He has short, close-shaven brown or greying hair and a prominent nose. His attire includes black trousers, a light blue checkered shirt, and a black coat.

Detective Constable Barbara Offord has issued a public appeal, stating, “We have exhausted a number of lines of enquiry in our efforts to find the person responsible and I am now appealing for the public’s help to trace this man. The CCTV footage is of good quality and this man will be recognised by any friends, family members or work colleagues who see this appeal and I need them to call us. Also, if anyone else has any information about the man, the incident we are investigating or anything else which may assist us, please get in touch.”
