ALMONDURY PENSIONER MALCOLM LUNN SENTENCED FOR CHILD PORN AND ANIMAL EXTREME PORNOGRAPHY

In a case that has shocked the local community of Almondbury, Malcolm Lunn, a 73-year-old resident of Tinderley Grove, was subjected to a court hearing at Leeds Crown Court following the discovery of highly disturbing material stored on his personal computer equipment. The investigation was initiated in June when police officers conducted a search of Lunn’s residence while he was away on holiday, acting on information that someone at the address had been using a file sharing website to distribute illicit content.

Upon his return from holiday, Lunn was interviewed by authorities but chose not to make any comments regarding the allegations. During the search, law enforcement officials seized several items, including a computer tower and four external hard drives, which were later subjected to detailed forensic analysis. The examination uncovered a disturbing collection of digital files, including 24 video recordings. Of these, 17 were classified as Category A, the most severe classification, which involved explicit content depicting the penetration of a child as young as seven years old. All but one of these Category A videos remained accessible on the devices.

In addition to the Category A videos, investigators found six videos categorized as B and one as C, along with 29 still images that had been deleted. The deleted images included three from Category A, nine from Category B, and 17 from Category C. The forensic analysis also revealed the presence of 163 extreme pornographic images involving animals, highlighting the severity and depravity of the material stored on Lunn’s devices.

When questioned again about the findings, Lunn attempted to deflect responsibility by suggesting that his network router was insecure, implying that he might not have been responsible for the content. However, the evidence was clear, and he was charged with multiple offences. Lunn pleaded guilty to seven counts of making indecent images and three counts of possessing extreme pornography.

The court sentenced him to a three-year community order, which includes a requirement to participate in a 60-day rehabilitation activity program. Judge James Spencer QC addressed Lunn directly, stating, “You knew perfectly well you should not have this material.” Despite the gravity of the offences, the judge acknowledged Lunn’s willingness to cooperate with the Probation Service and expressed hope that the community order would serve as an opportunity for him to address and understand the nature of his offending behavior.
