MAHMOOD IBRAHIM AND SHOCKING SEXUAL ASSAULT IN HULL
In a disturbing incident that took place in Hull, Mahmood Ibrahim was brought to justice after committing a serious sexual assault against a 16-year-old girl on South Street, close to Paragon Street.The events unfolded when Noor Ibrahim approached the young girl and inquired about her whereabouts, asking her, "Where have you been?" She responded that she had been at work and explained that she was waiting for her mother to pick her up.
Despite her innocent reply, Ibrahim's behavior became aggressive as he suddenly grabbed her and subjected her to a sexual assault.
The girl, whose identity is protected for legal reasons, experienced a deeply unsettling ordeal that left her feeling scared and unsafe.
Miss Scott, presumably a law enforcement or court representative, stated that the girl was visibly distressed following the incident.
A minute or so afterward, her mother arrived to collect her, and the young girl confided in her about what had transpired.
Following the confrontation, the mother took immediate action.
She drove along the nearby streets searching for the individual responsible.
Their search led them to Paragon Street, which is situated very close to the scene of the assault.
The mother then approached the suspect, who was still in the vicinity, and took photographs of him using her mobile phone, capturing his presence on camera.
Witnesses describe that Mahmood Ibrahim was holding a pint of alcohol in his right hand at the time.
The mother confronted Ibrahim directly, demanding answers for his behavior.
She asked, "Have you just grabbed my daughter?
You're not going to get away with this." However, Ibrahim did not respond; instead, he continued walking down South Street, showing no immediate signs of remorse or acknowledgment.
The incident was reported to the police the following day.
Law enforcement officers promptly acted on the report, and through their inquiries, they identified and located Noor Ibrahim at his residence.
He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of sexual assault.
During questioning, Ibrahim admitted to kissing the girl but refused to comment on whether the act was consensual.
He claimed that he believed she was between 20 and 25 years old and insisted that she had told him she was 17, which he argued reduced the gravity of the offense.
The young victim later expressed her feelings about the traumatic event, revealing that it had left her feeling upset and extremely uncomfortable.
Miss Scott emphasized that she now feels scared and unsafe, indicating the profound impact the assault has had on her well-being.
It was noted during the hearing that Mahmood Ibrahim had no previous criminal convictions in the United Kingdom.
The court heard that he had been residing in Hull for two years and was seeking asylum from Sudan.
Legal representatives for Ibrahim, including his attorney Marc Luxford, described the behavior as "disgusting" and involved a vulnerable 16-year-old girl late at night.
Luxford also referenced Ibrahim's intoxication at the time, suggesting that his drinking influenced his actions.
Despite attempts to minimize the seriousness of the offense during a probation interview, Ibrahim showed remorse for his actions.
Luxford stated, "He is sorry for the offence.
He was in drink." It was also revealed that Ibrahim still has family residing in Sudan, as he continues to seek asylum in the UK.
In a decision that acknowledged the severity of the crime, Recorder David Gordon, sitting alongside two magistrates, initially sentenced Ibrahim to one year in custody.
However, upon appeal, the sentence was reduced to 10 months, as the magistrates found that he had not received sufficient discount for his early guilty plea.
Despite the reduction, the court emphasized the ongoing risk Ibrahim poses to the community.
Recorder Gordon informed that he was classified as posing a high risk of serious harm, particularly toward females, and that there was a significant chance of future offenses.
The assessment highlighted that Ibrahim's actions and the vulnerability of the victim, who was alone in the city center late at night, were deeply concerning.
The court also imposed a 10-year sexual harm prevention order and mandated that Ibrahim register as a sex offender for ten years.
