    MADOG ROWLANDS SENTENCED TO LIFE FOR MURDER OF LAUREN GRIFFITHS IN CARDIFF

    Madog Rowlands, a 23-year-old man originally from Wrexham, has been handed a life sentence by the court for the brutal murder of Lauren Griffiths, aged 21, in their shared flat located in the Cathays area of Cardiff. The tragic incident occurred in April 2019, and the court proceedings revealed disturbing details about the crime.

    According to court reports, Rowlands strangled Ms. Griffiths to death, an act that was both violent and calculated. After the murder, he proceeded to wrap her body in tape and clingfilm, attempting to conceal the crime. The court heard that following this heinous act, Rowlands ordered food and drugs to be delivered to their flat, indicating a disturbing level of detachment or perhaps an attempt to cover his tracks. He also sent messages to his drug dealer, placing a significant order for cannabis and ecstasy, which further painted a picture of his state of mind and lifestyle at the time.

    Remarkably, over a day after the murder, Rowlands contacted emergency services, claiming that he had killed Ms. Griffiths
