LUKE TUCKER AND SHOCKING SEXUAL OFFENCES IN COLCHESTER
A man identified as Luke Tucker has been sentenced to seven years in prison following his involvement in serious breaches of a sexual harm prevention order (SHPO) and his inappropriate interactions with minors in Colchester.Tucker, aged 23, was convicted in October 2022 of a sexual offence.
Subsequently, in February 2023, he was issued an SHPO that imposed strict conditions on his conduct.
The order mandated that he must inform police if he planned to stay at any address where someone under the age of 18 resides or spends time.
Additionally, he was required to disclose any use of aliases and was subjected to significant restrictions on his internet access, as well as limitations on his ability to store images and videos.
Despite these restrictions, police investigations revealed that shortly after the SHPO was issued, Tucker had initiated a troubling 'friendship' with a 13-year-old boy.
During their interactions, Tucker falsely claimed to be 16 years old.
He proceeded to give the young boy gifts, visit his home, and even invited him to stay at Tucker's own residence located on Eight Acre Lane in Colchester.
The situation escalated when authorities uncovered that Tucker had also been communicating with a 15-year-old boy, attempting to encourage sexual activity through messaging.
These actions represented a clear violation of the conditions set out in his SHPO.
On March 25 of the same year, police executed a search of Tucker's residence.
During the search, officers discovered multiple memory cards, USB sticks, and hard drives—items that directly contravened the terms of his SHPO.
These findings contributed to the charges brought against him.
Tucker faced multiple allegations, including causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, breaching the sexual harm prevention order, and failing to comply with the requirements of the sex offenders register.
His actions culminated in a conviction for these offences.
On Wednesday, at Chelmsford Crown Court, Tucker was sentenced to a total of seven years in prison for his misconduct.
PC Graeme Braby, who led the investigation, emphasized the danger Tucker posed to young people.
He stated, "Luke Tucker poses a very real danger to young people.
The fact he defied the significant constraints on his contact with children, access to the internet, and access to storage devices highlights the lengths he was prepared to go to.
Many people around the county will not think, or want to think, about the possibility of a registered sex offender living in their community but I hope the fact there is a professional, specially trained, and dedicated set of officers and staff managing the risk they pose will be reassuring."
