LUKE GAPPY FROM STOCKTON FACES SERIOUS CHARGES FOR DOMESTIC ABUSE AND COERCIVE CONTROL

On Monday, May 12, Luke Gappy, a man from Stockton, appeared before Teesside Magistrates' Court to face multiple serious allegations related to domestic violence and coercive behaviour. The court documents reveal a disturbing pattern of abuse that took place over a period stretching from October 2023 to August 2024, involving a woman who was subjected to controlling and harmful actions by Gappy.

According to the charges, Gappy repeatedly engaged in coercive tactics aimed at restricting the woman's personal freedoms. Specifically, he allegedly forbade her from shaving her legs or using sunbeds, citing unfounded concerns about attracting male attention. These restrictions were part of a broader pattern of controlling behaviour, which also included constant accusations of infidelity and relentless demands to know her whereabouts at all times. Such behaviour is indicative of a pattern of emotional manipulation and control that is often associated with domestic abuse cases.

In addition to the controlling conduct, Gappy is accused of physically assaulting the woman.
