LOUISE BLACK OF OAKLEY, FIFE, INVOLVED IN DISTURBANCE DURING ONLINE DATE IN DUNDEE

An online date in Dundee turned chaotic when Louise Black, 41, of Ben Lomond View, Oakley, Fife, lost control and behaved threateningly after an initial promising encounter. Black had met a man she connected with on the dating site Plenty of Fish, and they arranged to meet on New Year's Eve. Dundee Sheriff Court was told that the two got along well at first, with the man inviting Black back to his home on the Balcarres Estate near Colinsburgh, Fife. During the visit, he offered her a drink, which she quickly consumed in large quantities.

Fiscal depute Alan Kempton explained, “At that point she began speaking about family troubles and became emotional. She carried on in the same manner for the remainder of the evening. The complainer describes her as ranting and raving.” Around 10:30 pm, Black phoned her mother on her mobile and continued discussing family issues before throwing the phone to the floor.

The man believed it was best for her to go to bed, which she did. Approximately half an hour later, she woke up and began ranting again. She demanded he drive her to a friend's house in Leven, but he declined due to having been drinking. Black then left the house and stepped outside, where she started ranting and raving once more. In a moment of agitation, she grabbed a concrete ornament and threw it at the man's Vauxhall Corsa, striking the passenger window and damaging the bodywork, with damages valued at about £1,000.

Police attending the scene found Black wandering nearby shortly after. She was described as drunk and agitated. Black pleaded guilty on summary complaint to charges of threatening and abusive behavior as well as vandalism. Sheriff Lorna Drummond QC announced that the sentencing would be deferred until next month, allowing Black to appear in court in person.
