HUDDERSFIELD MAN JAILED FOR ATTACKING GIRLFRIEND DURING HOLIDAY
Louis Moran-Swallow, 22, attacked his girlfriend during a romantic getaway, pinned her to a wall and called her a "dirty s***".
The incident occurred in a hotel room on October 26, 2019, after the couple had been drinking in a pub.
Moran-Swallow pinned her by the neck and smashed her phone when he attacked her in a drunken rage.
He told her, "I could kill you." The woman managed to break free but Moran-Swallow grabbed her phone and destroyed it to prevent her calling for help.
He then drove away from the scene, despite being too intoxicated to drive, but was later detained by police.
Moran-Swallow initially denied assaulting her and claimed she was the aggressor, but he subsequently pleaded guilty to actual bodily harm and criminal damage.
The victim has had to pay £450 for counselling to cope with the emotional impact.
The judge, Sara Dodd, sentenced him to do 150 hours of unpaid work, pay £450 compensation, and cover the £25 excess on her phone insurance, acknowledging his previous good character and stating "that you are capable of living a law-abiding life."
