NORTHWICH MAN AVOIDS JAIL FOR SNAPCHAT SEXTING WITH GIRL, 15
A 26-YEAR-OLD man named Louis Blair from Fairfield Road in Northwich appeared at Chester Crown Court on December 6.
He received a 10-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, after engaging in sexual communications with a girl via Snapchat and possessing indecent images.
He previously pleaded guilty at Chester Magistrates Court on November 8 to attempting to engage in sexual conversations with a child and inciting a girl aged 13-15 into sexual activity of a non-penetrative nature.
Blair admitted to making three counts of indecent images of children and possession of a total of 40 images, including six category A, four category B, and 30 category C indecent photographs.
The court findings revealed that between July 3 and 9, 2021, Blair used Snapchat to communicate with a 15-year-old girl, whom he did not reasonably believe was 16 or older.
His messages included references to meeting at a hotel, declarations of love, compliments on her appearance, and discussions about having sex with her on her 16th birthday.
He also attempted to incite her into sexual activity and requested photographs of her genitals and bottom.
Besides these offenses, Blair was found in possession of 40 indecent images of children.
The sentence imposed by Recorder Alexandra Simmonds also included a 10-year sexual harm prevention order, restricting his access to the internet, prohibiting living in the same household as any girl under 16 without approval, and limiting unsupervised contact with girls under 16.
Blair is also required to register as a sex offender for 10 years, complete 100 hours of unpaid work, and adhere to a rehabilitation requirement.
