NOTTINGHAM WOMAN GETS COMMUNITY ORDER FOR STABBING EX IN FRUSTRATION
A Nottingham woman, Lisa Summerfield, was found to have stabbed her former partner 'in frustration' after he arrived at her residence to see their children.According to Nottingham Crown Court, 'something happened in the house' which led Summerfield, of Carlton, to pick up a knife and attack her ex.
The incident resulted in the victim needing a blood transfusion, and he has since lost his job due to the trauma suffered.
The court heard how Summerfield had previously been harassed by the victim and had breached two non-molestation orders.
During the hearing, Judge Stuart Rafferty KC acknowledged her difficult life and her intentions to protect her children, resulting in a two-year community order with mandatory rehabilitation sessions and mental health treatment.
Prosecutor Phillip Plant stated that at the time of the offence, May 22, 2023, Summerfield and the victim had been in a relationship but were not together at the moment of the incident.
The victim, who has two children aged 12 and 14, had visited her to see the children when the altercation occurred, which was captured on Ring doorbell footage.
Summerfield pleaded guilty to assault occasioning grievous bodily harm.
She has prior convictions for criminal damage and common assault from 2006 and 2007.
Her legal representative, Susan Gregson-Murray, highlighted her history of harassment by the victim.
As part of her sentence, she must attend 15 rehabilitation sessions and a 12-month mental health program.
The judge emphasized her efforts to protect her children but warned her not to repeat such actions in the future.
