REDCAR MAN JAILED FOR CHILD ABUSE AND POSSESSION OF EXTREME PORNOGRAPHY

A pervert who shared sick images of himself sexually assaulting a child has been sentenced to prison. Liam Waldron appeared before Teesside Crown Court where he was convicted of multiple offences, including sharing depraved sexually explicit images of children and possession of extreme porn involving a dog. The court learned that Waldron, aged 29 and residing at Ryehills Close, was caught after West Mercia Police identified evidence linking him to contact with a suspect in their jurisdiction. They alerted Cleveland Police. Law enforcement officers visited Waldron’s home and found numerous devices containing the offending images, along with evidence of correspondence with another individual. Police also uncovered a photograph shared by Waldron depicting the sexual assault of a child. Prosecutor Philip Morley stated that Waldron admitted to regularly sharing and distributing indecent images across platforms like WhatsApp over several years, often under the influence of alcohol and drugs. Waldron pleaded guilty to charges including the sexual assault of a child under 13, taking indecent photographs of a child, distributing such photos, making indecent images, and possessing extreme pornography involving a dog. The court reviewed the evidence, which included possession of 110 Category A images, 79 Category B images, 33 Category C images of children, as well as 12 images of extreme pornography. Additionally, Waldron shared an image of himself assaulting a child. Judge Joanne Kidd remarked that Waldron had engaged with other paedophiles to share depraved ideas and fantasies. She acknowledged that the acts were fantasy but emphasized the images' heinous nature, depicting children subjected to grave violations. Waldron was sentenced to 42 months in prison and placed on the sex offenders register indefinitely. The judge highlighted the depravity of the images and Waldron's discussions with others involved in similar offending behaviors. Mitigating, Robert Mochrie, stated that Waldron’s behaviour could not be rationalized, attributing it to drug misuse and external pressure. He also noted that Waldron’s guilty plea was a form of mitigation. The court ordered the registration of Waldron as a sex offender for life, reflecting the severity of his crimes.
