LIAM TRIPP FROM HULL CAUGHT WITH NEARLY 5,000 CHILD INDECENT IMAGES AND PLEADS GUILTY
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Hull, Liam Tripp, a 34-year-old man, has been found guilty of possessing and creating an extensive collection of indecent images of children. The case came to light after police investigations revealed the depth of his involvement in child exploitation and abuse.
On April 17 of the previous year, Humberside Police officers executed a search warrant at Tripp’s residence in Hull.
During the raid, they confiscated multiple electronic devices which contained a staggering number of illegal images.
The authorities discovered nearly 700 images classified as Category A, which is considered the most severe and disturbing form of child abuse material.
Additionally, there were approximately 1,000 images categorized as Category B and around 2,500 images in Category C.
The police also found 181 prohibited images, further highlighting the extent of Tripp’s illegal activities.
During his arrest, Tripp expressed remorse, stating, “I knew this was coming.
I hate myself for it.
It’s me you want, and my phone is what you’re after.
I hate myself.” Despite being under investigation, Tripp continued to download thousands more indecent images, as revealed by prosecutor Nigel Clive.
The court was informed that he acquired nearly 1,000 additional images in Category A, along with similar numbers in Category B and C, demonstrating his ongoing engagement with illegal material.
Further disturbing evidence emerged during the proceedings, indicating that Tripp targeted a young girl.
The court heard that he had posed as a teenage boy online to manipulate her into sending more indecent images.
The girl, who was under 13 at the time, had posted explicit images of herself online.
Tripp managed to transfer these images to his phone and engaged in further exploitation by encouraging her to produce and share more illicit images.
Judge David Tremberg described Tripp’s behavior as “unbelievable,” emphasizing the severity of his actions.
In addition to the possession and distribution of indecent images, Tripp was also convicted of indecent assault of a child under the age of 13.
The judge sentenced him to 36 months in prison, citing the seriousness of his conduct and his addiction to viewing child pornography.
Judge Tremberg stated, “This is a troubling case.
In recent years you have developed an addiction to viewing pornography of children and you have a particular interest in pre-pubescent girls all for your own sexual gratification.
It’s obvious that you will know what you were doing was seriously wrong.
You had been unwilling or unable to control or stop this course of conduct and that aspect alone is so serious to merit a custodial sentence.” As part of his sentence, Tripp, who is currently held at HMP Hull, has been subjected to an indefinite sexual harm prevention order and will remain on the Sex Offenders’ Register for life.
The case has raised significant concerns about online safety and the protection of vulnerable children in the Hull area, prompting calls for increased vigilance and preventative measures to combat such heinous crimes.
