PEEBLESSHIRE MAN ACCUSED OF RAPE APPEARS IN COURT

A 25-year-old man from Peeblesshire has been accused of three counts of rape.

Liam Scott appeared in private at the sheriff court in Selkirk, facing a total of 12 charges including three assaults, an assault with an attempt to rape, and four counts of threatening or abusive behaviour.

He made no plea during the hearing and was subsequently remanded for further examination while on bail, pending his next court appearance.

The court ordered him to undergo further investigations and he remains under suspicion for serious sexual crimes in the region.
