LIAM FISHER FROM DONCASTER INVOLVED IN VIOLENT INCIDENTS IN KIRKBY AND ALFRETON

A man from Doncaster, Liam Fisher, was at the center of a series of violent and alarming incidents that unfolded in different locations, including Kirkby and Alfreton, which culminated in a tense police stand-off. The events, which took place over several months, highlight Fisher’s aggressive behavior and the serious consequences he faced in court.

It all began on the night of October 23 last year, in Mansfield town centre, where Fisher, a supporter of Nottingham Forest, engaged in a heated exchange with a Derby County supporter. The confrontation escalated when Fisher, during a moment of provocation, pretended to throw two uppercuts at the man’s chin. The situation quickly turned violent when Fisher delivered a real punch, which struck the man and rendered him unconscious. The blow caused bleeding from his head, though fortunately, he only required stitches to treat his injuries. The incident was witnessed by bystanders and was reported to the police, leading to Fisher’s arrest and subsequent court proceedings.

However, the troubling behavior did not end there. On March 22 of the following year, Fisher’s actions took a more disturbing turn involving his former partner and their young daughter. After she left their relationship and sought refuge in a women’s shelter, Fisher tracked her down to her new address in Alfreton. The court heard that he arrived at her home and began kicking the front door and banging on the windows, shouting abuse at her. When she attempted to escape with their baby daughter to a nearby park, Fisher pursued her, creating a scene that caused significant distress.

Fisher’s obsession and aggression continued as he followed his ex-partner back to her residence. Tensions escalated further when she received a phone call from a male friend, which seemed to provoke Fisher. In a disturbing act, he forcibly took their daughter and ran off down the street. Moments later, he returned, refusing to relinquish the child. In a violent outburst, Fisher grabbed his ex-partner around the throat and pushed her against the wall. She managed to break free and ran inside her home, still holding their daughter. Not stopping there, Fisher threw a brick through a window to gain entry into the house.

Once inside, he locked the door and continued his verbal assault on his ex-partner, who pleaded with him to release her and their child. During this tense standoff, Fisher placed a hammer down the back of his trousers, indicating potential further violence. The police arrived and engaged in a 10-minute negotiation with Fisher, during which he warned his ex that he would find her wherever she went. His actions and threats created an extremely frightening situation for everyone involved.

Fisher, residing on Richmond Road in Kirkby, was charged and admitted to multiple offenses, including assault, assault causing actual bodily harm, false imprisonment, and criminal damage. His behavior was described as disgraceful and highly distressing by the court. The prosecution highlighted that Fisher suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder, and his legal team argued that he could be treated within the community rather than being imprisoned. Despite this, the judge, Nirmal Shant QC, sentenced Fisher to 18 months in prison, emphasizing the severity and frightening nature of his conduct. Additionally, Fisher was handed a five-year restraining order to prevent any further contact with his ex-partner and their daughter, aiming to protect them from future harm.
