Although Ball was not sentenced to prison in January, he was spared incarceration after the court considered the circumstances of his case.
Instead, he was ordered to undertake a community payback order, which required him to complete 160 hours of unpaid work within a nine-month period.
The sheriff overseeing the case described Ball’s conduct as “evil,” emphasizing the severity of his actions and the need for rehabilitation and punishment.

This action effectively barred him from working in any capacity within the care sector, including roles involving children.
It was later revealed that Ball, who had previously been involved with the football club Fair City 2010 and had attempted to join Jeanfield Swifts FC, had since relocated to the Liverpool area.
