LEWIS JONES AND SHOCKING CHILD ATTACK IN LIVERPOOL
A 24-year-old man named Lewis Jones has been sentenced to life imprisonment following a brutal and predatory attack on a young girl in Liverpool.According to court proceedings, Jones inflicted extreme violence and trauma on a six-year-old girl after kidnapping her from a field in Droylsden, Tameside.
The child was in the midst of building a den with her friends when the incident occurred.
Over the course of approximately 30 minutes, Jones subjected her to a series of horrific abuses, leaving her injured and bloodied.
The Manchester Crown Court heard that Jones had been observed sitting on a bench near the group of children the day before the assault, where he was secretly taking pictures of their belongings.
Witnesses revealed that he had engaged with the children earlier, asking if he could help them in building the den, yet the situation turned sinister when he suddenly snatched the girl as her friends looked on.
One of the other children recounted feeling uneasy as Jones kept smiling at her just before he seized her friend.
The attack unfolded rapidly after Jones took the girl by force into the nearby woods.
There, he held her for an extended half-hour, during which he threatened her with violence if she made any noise, warning her that she would never see her parents again if she did.
Evidence from the crime scene revealed semen on the victim’s underwear, confirming the sexual assault.
The girl later described how Jones had put his hand on her throat and forcibly assaulted her sexually.
The assault was particularly violent; Jones had pushed his fingers down her throat, causing her to bleed and knocking out one of her teeth.
During the attack, he also took photographs of the young girl.
Jones only released her from captivity after her screams attracted her family and prompted a frantic search.
The girl's mother later provided a heartbreaking victim impact statement, expressing her anguish: she said she “couldn’t stop screaming” when she discovered what had happened and confessed she was in utter disbelief that someone could have taken her little girl and committed such a horrific act.
The attack was witnessed by another child, an 11-year-old nearby who saw Jones carrying the blood-stained girl on her T-shirt.
She overheard the man telling her, “You’re okay, you’re okay,” while later seeing the girl alone on a footpath, screaming for help and pleading, “Help me, I’ve been kidnapped.” Jones fled the area on foot but was later found at a hotel in Ancoats, where he was staying with his father.
The police released CCTV images of Jones after the attack in an effort to locate him.
Remarkably, his father recognized his son's image and took him to the police station himself.
Initially denying involvement, Jones was later confront with evidence and admitted to kidnapping the child and committing two counts of assault by penetration.
As part of the investigation, authorities discovered that he shared explicit images related to the incident with a former girlfriend hours after the attack.
The court session concluded with Judge handing down a minimum term of 12 years, emphasizing the absence of remorse from Jones despite the severity of his crimes.
The court was told that Jones showed no emotion as he was sentenced.
This case underscores the devastating impact of such heinous acts on innocent victims and their families, leaving a permanent scar that echoes through their lives.
