LEWIS GREEN FROM NORTHAMPTONSHIRE SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ABUSE OF CHILDREN AND ONLINE EXPLOITATION

A man named Lewis Green, aged 22, has been convicted and sentenced to prison for heinous crimes involving the sexual abuse and exploitation of young children in Northamptonshire.

The case came to light after disturbing reports from victims and their families, prompting a thorough investigation by local authorities.

In August 2022, police were alerted when a seven-year-old girl confided in her mother that she had been subjected to repeated sexual assaults by Green, starting from March of that year.

This initial report triggered an extensive inquiry by Northamptonshire Police’s Child Abuse Investigation Unit (CAIU), which meticulously gathered evidence and built a case against Green.

Green was formally charged with two counts of sexual assault of a girl under 13 by touching, along with two additional counts of engaging in non-penetrative sexual activity with a girl under 13, as an adult.

At that time, he was awaiting trial on these charges.

However, the investigation took a further disturbing turn in February when another report emerged.

A parent, who knew Green personally, discovered over 200 messages from him on their nine-year-old child's Facebook Messenger account.

This revelation indicated a pattern of grooming and online exploitation.

Subsequently, the authorities combined the two investigations, leading to additional charges against Green.

These included engaging in sexual communication with a child and inciting a girl under 13 to engage in sexual activity, although no penetration was involved.

The evidence painted a clear picture of Green’s predatory behavior, both online and offline.

Green, who resides on Staverton Road in Daventry, admitted to all charges during a court hearing at Northampton Crown Court on March 6.

He also pleaded guilty to a breach of bail conditions imposed in February 2022, related to the initial investigation.

His guilty pleas came after overwhelming evidence was presented against him, and he showed little remorse for his actions.

Following his admission, Green was remanded into custody while awaiting sentencing.

On August 9, at Northampton Crown Court, he was sentenced to a total of 27 months in prison.

Additionally, he was placed on the sex offenders’ register for a period of 10 years.

As part of his sentence, Green was also subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which explicitly prohibits him from living with, contacting, or communicating with any females under the age of 16.

He is also barred from using any internet-enabled devices without prior notification to his offender management team, and he must adhere to strict inspection and usage rules to prevent further offenses.

Detective Constables Emily Faulkner and James Wright, who led the investigation, expressed their views on the case.

They emphasized that Green is a serial offender with a troubling history of abusing young people.

They highlighted that Green was aware of the victims’ ages but continued to groom and coerce them for his own sexual gratification.

The officers pointed out Green’s blatant disregard for the law and the bail conditions that explicitly banned him from any contact with minors under 18, indicating a complete lack of concern for the victims and their families.

Both officers noted that Green only pleaded guilty when faced with overwhelming evidence and that his remorse appeared insincere, primarily centered on himself rather than the harm caused.

They acknowledged the profound impact his actions had on the children involved and the ripple effect on their families, describing the breach of trust as deeply upsetting.

They expressed hope that the custodial sentence would allow Green time to reflect on his actions.

Once released, he will be closely monitored by a specialized sex offender management team, making it difficult for him to reoffend.

Nonetheless, the officers stressed that Green remains a significant threat to children.

They also took the opportunity to thank the victims’ families for their strength and bravery in coming forward, which was crucial in securing justice.

The officers reaffirmed Northamptonshire Police’s commitment to taking any form of child abuse very seriously and to pursuing the strongest possible penalties against offenders.
