DONCASTER WILDLIFE KILLER LEWIS CARPENTER STRIKES AGAIN IN HORRIFIC CAT ATTACK

Lewis Carpenter, a resident of Doncaster known for his involvement in animal cruelty, was convicted in 2015 for a particularly heinous act of wildlife persecution. Born on July 25, 1995, Carpenter resides on Winchester Road in Dunscroft, Doncaster, with the postcode DN7 4NB. His latest crime involved deliberately orchestrating a brutal attack on a pet cat, an incident that shocked the local community and drew widespread condemnation.

According to reports, Carpenter, who was accompanied by an unidentified juvenile at the time, led a dog to attack a defenseless cat named R2. The attack was not accidental but a calculated act of cruelty, with Carpenter actively encouraging the dog to maul the innocent animal. The incident was captured on a neighbour’s CCTV camera, which played a crucial role in identifying Carpenter. The footage was subsequently shared on Facebook, leading to his arrest and subsequent prosecution.

Matt Gelder, the owner of R2, recounted the tragic events that unfolded the following morning. He discovered his beloved pet lying in his kitchen, covered in blood and suffering from severe injuries. Despite veterinary efforts to save R2, the injuries proved fatal, and the cat succumbed several days later. Gelder was left with a bill of approximately £2,400 for the medical treatment, a financial burden that underscored the severity of the crime.

During the court proceedings, the chairman of the bench condemned Carpenter’s actions, stating, “This was a deliberate act of cruelty. You showed the dog to the cat and led it to him. The results were horrific. You are very lucky you are not going to prison.” The court recognized the malicious intent behind the attack and emphasized the cruelty involved.

Following the sentencing, Gelder expressed relief that Carpenter had been apprehended but also urged the public to assist authorities in identifying the other individual involved in the incident. He emphasized the importance of accountability and justice for animal victims.

In a disturbing revelation, it was reported that Carpenter’s father, Neil Carpenter, posted a message on Facebook expressing his anger over the story being shared publicly. The post drew further attention to the case, which has sparked outrage across Doncaster and beyond. A friend of Neil Carpenter, named Cathi Askin, made a controversial comment suggesting that “every dog man around has killed a cat in their time just unlucky he got caught,” reflecting a disturbing attitude towards animal cruelty.

As for Carpenter’s legal consequences, he received a 12-week prison sentence, suspended for one year, along with 200 hours of unpaid community service. He was also ordered to pay £305.76 in compensation to Gelder for the loss of R2. Additionally, Carpenter was subjected to a five-year ban on keeping any animals, a restriction that expired in January 2020. The case has left a lasting impact on the community, highlighting the ongoing issue of animal cruelty in the region.
