FATHER CONVICTED FOR BRUTAL ABUSE THAT LEFT HIS YOUNG DAUGHTER SCARRED FOR LIFE

A man has been convicted of a series of harrowing offences against his young daughter, exposing her to extreme cruelty, physical harm, and lasting trauma. The victim, referred to here only as “his daughter” to protect her identity, was just a child when she endured unimaginable suffering at the hands of a man who should have protected her—Levi George.

Between October and November 2020, George subjected his daughter to sustained abuse so severe that it left her body marked with horrific injuries, including extreme burns. Though the physical wounds have since healed, the scars—both visible and invisible—remain as chilling evidence of the torture she endured.

Over several weeks in October 2020, George repeatedly assaulted, ill-treated, neglected, and exposed the child to harm in ways likely to cause unnecessary suffering or injury to her health. According to court documents, he was fully responsible for the child during this time, and his actions were deliberate, wilful, and malicious.

This behaviour constitutes a serious violation of Section 1(1) of the Children and Young Persons Act 1933, which exists to protect minors from exactly this kind of abuse. But George didn’t stop there.

By November 2020, George’s cruelty escalated. Between the 20th and 22nd of that month, he inflicted grievous bodily harm with intent, a crime contrary to Section 18 of the Offences Against the Person Act 1861. The court found that this was not an accident or negligence—it was an intentional, malicious act. He purposefully harmed his daughter in a way he knew could leave permanent damage.

George was not only a guardian but a member of the same household, having frequent contact with the child. On or before November 22nd, he either committed or failed to prevent an unlawful act that resulted in serious physical harm to his daughter.

The offence falls under Section 5 of the Domestic Violence, Crime and Victims Act 2004—a provision specifically designed for cases where someone in the home either causes or allows a child to suffer significant injury. George either knew or should have known the risk, but he took no action to protect her.

The details are haunting. His daughter suffered extreme burns, evidence of the pain and torment she faced. While the physical burns have since healed, they will remain a lifelong reminder of the cruelty inflicted by someone she should have been able to trust the most.

In addition to the burns, medical examinations revealed that the child also suffered a fractured wrist and fractures to both tibias—serious bone injuries consistent with forceful trauma. These injuries paint a horrifying picture of sustained and repeated violence, inflicted over time. It was not a one-off moment of rage, but a campaign of abuse that broke not just bones, but the very safety every child deserves in their own home.

These weren’t isolated incidents or the result of a momentary lapse in judgement—they were deliberate, repeated acts of violence and neglect.

This case is a stark reminder of the brutal realities many children face behind closed doors. Levi George had the opportunity—and the legal duty—to protect his daughter. Instead, he inflicted trauma that no child should ever endure.
