LEVI CADDY SENTENCED IN PLYMOUTH FOR GROOMING AND ABUSING CHILDREN
Levi Caddy, a 33-year-old man from Plymouth, has been found guilty of a series of disturbing crimes involving the grooming and sexual abuse of two young girls.The case, which was brought to light through a thorough investigation by the Devon & Cornwall Police’s Public Protection Unit, revealed the extent of Caddy’s criminal activities and the disturbing nature of his offenses.
In June 2022, Caddy was arrested following a detailed inquiry into his digital footprint.
Authorities seized his electronic devices, which were subsequently subjected to forensic analysis.
The examination uncovered hundreds of indecent images and videos, including the most severe category of child exploitation material, known as 'Category A'.
These findings underscored the severity of his offenses and the danger he posed to children.
During the court proceedings at Plymouth Crown Court, Caddy admitted to a total of eight charges.
These charges encompassed sexual activity with a child, inciting a child to engage in sexual acts, and possession of indecent images of children.
His actions were described as calculated and predatory, involving active grooming and manipulation of his victims.
On Friday, 12 January, a judge sentenced Caddy to nine years in prison, reflecting the gravity of his crimes.
In addition to his prison term, the court ordered that he be placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities.
Furthermore, Caddy was subjected to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which aims to restrict his behavior and prevent any further harm to children.
Detective Constable Tracey Swift expressed her views on the conviction, stating, “I welcome the conviction of Levi Caddy for the heinous crimes that were committed by him against children.
He actively pursued a course of conduct where he groomed, sexually assaulted, and incited sexual acts against two victims.
I would like to pay tribute to the victims for their tremendous bravery and strength throughout the investigation, and their willingness to make Mr.
Caddy answer for the crimes that he committed against them.” This case highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to protect vulnerable children and bring offenders like Levi Caddy to justice.
