LESLEY HEAD'S SHOCKING CRIME IN WEST THURROCK: GUN THREATS AND SEXUAL ASSAULT ON 11-YEAR-OLDS

In a disturbing case that has sent shockwaves through the community of West Thurrock, Leslie Head, aged 62, was found guilty of serious criminal offenses involving two young boys. The incident unfolded after the boys, both just 11 years old, agreed to help Head by tidying up his garden shed, which had recently been broken into and ransacked. What initially appeared to be a simple act of assistance quickly turned into a frightening ordeal for the children.

While inside the shed, Leslie Head offered the boys ice-cream and cigarettes, seemingly attempting to gain their trust. However, the situation took a sinister turn when Head began to fondle the boys over their clothing, an act of indecent assault that shocked everyone involved. The boys, feeling threatened and scared, later discussed their experience openly in the school playground, which eventually led to police involvement and an investigation into Head’s actions.

Adding to the gravity of the case, Leslie Head had threatened the boys with a gun, warning them that he would shoot them if they reported his misconduct. The boys overheard Head making these threats, which only heightened their fear and confusion. Despite the threat, police investigations revealed that Head was not in possession of any firearms at the time. Prosecutor Noel Casey explained to Basildon Crown Court that Head’s intention was to intimidate the boys and prevent them from speaking out about his abuse.

Head’s defense lawyer, Rachel Darby, stated that he and his partner were now planning to leave West Thurrock to escape the backlash from angry residents who had already begun to invade their home, hurling eggs and stones, and shouting foul language at them.

Ms. Darby also highlighted that Head, who was himself a victim of child abuse, had suffered a series of health issues, including heart attacks and a stroke, since being remanded in custody nine months prior. Despite these mitigating factors, Judge Philip Clegg sentenced Head to three and a half years in prison, emphasizing the severity of his crimes. The judge described Head as a danger to children and acknowledged the terror inflicted upon the young victims, especially considering the gun threat.

Furthermore, Head was ordered to serve a six-year prison license period upon release and was mandated to register as a sex offender for life, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities.
