December 2007 Tennis coach jailed for indecent pictures A TENNIS coach from Greenford who downloaded more than 11,000 indecent images was so embarrassed by his crimes he told friends he will be travelling for a while, as he starts a 16-month sentence. Southwark Crown Court heard Leslie Guenigalt, 46, of Long Drive, Greenford, cut faces of pupils at a tennis club, where he was a senior official, from photographs, and superimposed them on images of people having sex. When police raided his home on March 20 he confessed to possessing 11,507 images, including 2,352 at level four and 366 at level five, the two most serious grades featuring torture and bondage. The court heard he was caught after using his credit card to access site with the images on and Guenigalt admitted he had taken some photos back in 1979 appearing to be of a boy aged between 14 and 16. Fer Chinner, defending Guenigalt, said: “He has told his friends he is going to be travelling for a while. He is too ashamed to tell them the truth.” Judge John Price said one of the images Guenigalt downloaded was “probably one of the more disgusting photographs I have had the misfortune of seeing”. He told Guenigalt: “Your crimes are utterly unforgivable. This is not a victimless crime. This is a crime that fuels the creation of websites which people pay, as you did, to go on to. “You are encouraging obscene and dreadful behaviour.” The judge also ordered Guenigalt to sign the sex offenders’ register for ten years and banned him from working with children. Guenigalt admitted seven counts of making indecent pictures of children and three of making pseudo indecent images of children.
