OFFENDER JAILED FOR ONLINE ABUSE AND POSTING SEX VIDEOS
Lee Francis Ball, 39, was convicted for destroying his ex-partner's life by posting sex videos of her online. He emailed her friends links to the explicit material, causing her serious psychological harm.
During a nine-month campaign, he verbally abused and humiliated her, leaving offensive sex messages at her home.
He called her nasty names, criticized her appearance, and had cosmetic surgeons contact her.
Ball also ordered Sky TV in her name and sent her an abusive Valentine’s card.
Court proceedings revealed that Ball was ashamed of his actions, which exposed disturbing aspects of his personality.
His defense stated his messages were abusive, obscene, and included threats, although he did not intend to carry them out.
The court heard that they had been together for several months before arguing and separating.
Ball moved from Bridgend to live in the YMCA in Cardiff, where the woman started receiving disturbing messages.
Her father expressed concern, saying, 'It’s hard seeing her like that because of someone we all trusted.' Ball’s actions made her fear for her safety, and she even altered her routine, standing by an open window instead of going outside to smoke, sensing she was being watched.
She became depressed, couldn’t sleep, and remained frightened, fearing further harm.
Ball admitted to harassment, which was recorded as his 100th offence.
The judge sentenced him to two years in prison and barred him from contacting the woman again.
The judge described the campaign as 'spiteful and calculated,' noting it caused severe psychological damage in a cruel manner.
The court acknowledged that while this may not be the absolute worst case, it was nonetheless serious.
