February 2017 South Cumbria man had indecent child images on laptop A SOUTH Cumbria man has been sentenced by a judge for making and possessing indecent images of children. Lee Steven Forster, 23, received his punishment at Carlisle Crown Court today (FRI) having admitted five offences. Forster pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent photographs of youngsters between January and July last year; one charge of possessing criminal pictures; and one offence of possessing a prohibited image of a child. Thirteen illegal photos of children had been found on his laptop. Seven were classed in category A – the most serious. Forster was described as a “vulnerable young man suffering some difficulties”. However, he had a supportive family and partner, and it was said he would benefit from probation service assistance. Recorder Andrew Shaw imposed a three-year community order comprising a rehabilitation requirement and a sex offender group work course. Forster, of Thornton Park, Dalton-in-Furness, must sign the sex offenders’ register for five years and comply with the terms of a strict sexual harm prevention order indefinitely. “This is going to be the best way to punish you and to rehabilitate you,” said Recorder Shaw. “You plainly need help. It is my intention that you should get it.”
