ALVASTON MAN LEE ELMORE CAUGHT WITH OVER 40,000 CHILD ABUSE IMAGES AND VIDEOS IN DERBY

In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Alvaston, Derby, police uncovered a staggering collection of illegal and highly disturbing material during a raid on the residence of Lee Elmore. The 40-year-old father of one was found to possess more than 40,000 images and videos depicting child abuse, including some of the most severe category A material, which involves explicit scenes of adults and children engaged in sexual acts.

Elmore’s home on Harvey Road was targeted by law enforcement officers on June 18, following a detailed investigation. During the search, authorities seized multiple electronic devices, including a computer and an external hard drive. Subsequent analysis revealed a horrifying cache of content: 41,453 indecent images and videos of children, with over 2,000 classified as Category A, indicating the most severe form of abuse involving children and adults. Additionally, investigators discovered three extreme pornographic movies featuring a woman and a dog, along with 795 prohibited images, including animated scenes depicting child sexual abuse.

The case took a further disturbing turn when police revealed that Elmore had engaged in an email exchange with an undercover detective. During this exchange, he sent some of the illicit images, believing he was communicating with a like-minded individual. In the course of the conversation, Elmore asked the officer if he had ever had sex with a minor and admitted that he had only done so once but expressed a desire to repeat the act soon. These exchanges raised serious concerns about his intentions and risk to children.

Following the exchange, police moved swiftly to arrest Elmore at his home. During police interviews, he was candid about his activities, admitting that he had been viewing indecent images of children for over a decade. He explained that he derived sexual gratification from viewing such material and had installed software to conceal his internet activity while searching for it. His openness during questioning revealed a disturbing pattern of behavior and a long-standing involvement with illegal content.

Steven Taylor, prosecuting, outlined the extent of the evidence against Elmore, emphasizing the severity of the material found on his devices. The analysis uncovered 108 movies and 1,949 images of Category A, 20 films and 3,306 photographs of Category B, and 35 moving images along with 36,035 photographs of Category C. The devices also contained prohibited and extreme content, including animated depictions of child abuse and bestiality.

Elmore pleaded guilty to five counts related to possession and distribution of child sexual abuse images. His case was brought before Derby Crown Court, where Judge Nirmal Shant QC sentenced him to 20 months in prison. The judge expressed grave concern over the defendant’s actions, highlighting the high risk of serious harm posed to children, as indicated in a probation service report. Judge Shant emphasized the seriousness of the case, noting the prolonged period during which Elmore had viewed and downloaded such material, and the disturbing nature of his communications with the undercover officer.
