NEWCHURCH MAN JAILED FOR BRUTAL ASSAULT ON PARTNER
Lee Davison, a 34-year-old man from Newchurch, was involved in an extraordinarily brutal attack on his partner, which led the victim to believe she was going to die.The incident involved repeated violence including punching, biting, and kneeling on her neck, causing her to fear for her life.
Davison also trashed the house, causing approximately £3,000 in damage, and urinated on the stairs.
During the assault, the victim suffered a lump to the head, a swollen lip, bite marks, and hair ripped out.
The attack was finally interrupted by a dog walker, who described Davison as snarling like a dog.
Davison claimed during police interviews that he had no recollection of the incident due to being intoxicated, and acknowledged he can be nasty and lose his temper.
He admitted to charges including intentional strangulation, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and criminal damage.
The judge described the attack as the most vicious and ferocious, noting there was no reason for it and that she was lucky not to have been killed or more seriously injured.
Davison was sentenced to three years and two months in jail, with his barrister stating he takes full responsibility and is struggling to forgive himself, planning to leave the area with his family afterward.
