ROSSENDALE MAN JAILED FOR UPLOADING INDECENT VIDEO OF CHILDREN
A man from Rossendale has been jailed after uploading an indecent video of children to the internet.Jamie Lonsdale, 35, who previously lived on Staghills Road in Newchurch, uploaded the footage to a Dropbox account, prompting a police investigation.
He was arrested and interviewed in custody, but responded with "no comment" to all questions put to him by officers.
Lonsdale was later charged with three counts of making an indecent image of a child and one count of possessing an extreme pornographic image.
Lonsdale pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent photographs of children between July 2016 and July 2024 and possession of extreme pornographic images.
He was sentenced on May 6 at Preston Crown Court to 12 months in prison and given a sexual harm prevention order to last ten years.
DC Alicia Imitaz, from the Burnley rape and serious sexual offences team, said: "Lonsdale found and uploaded that video for his own sordid sexual interests.
"His behaviour can only be described as disturbing and perverted.
"Whilst it isn’t my place to comment on the specific sentence received, I can and will tell you that we will continue to take any reports of sexual offences incredibly seriously, and will do all we can to catch and bring to justice those responsible." Anyone who wishes to make a report to police can do so by calling 101 or via the force's online reporting portal.
