SWINDON MAN LEE COOK SEXUALLY ABUSES YOUNG BOYS IN DISTURBING INCIDENTS

In April 2021, a disturbing case emerged involving a man from Swindon named Lee Cook, who was accused of sexually assaulting two young boys in separate incidents that occurred approximately a decade earlier.

The details of the case were heard at Swindon Crown Court, revealing a pattern of predatory behavior that has left lasting scars on the victims.

According to court reports, the first victim, a boy of primary school age, was playing football in an alleyway near Cook’s residence when his ball was kicked into Cook’s garden.

When the boy approached the house to retrieve his ball, Cook, then around 16 years old, invited him inside.

Once inside, Cook took the boy upstairs to his bedroom, where he instructed the young child to get onto the bed and remove his clothing.

During this disturbing encounter, Cook also undressed himself and proceeded to touch the boy’s private parts.

Before the assault concluded, Cook warned the boy not to tell anyone, implying that he would get into trouble if he did.

The second victim, who was also under primary school age and unrelated to the first, was reportedly coerced by Cook into pulling down his trousers.

At the time, Cook was naked and performed oral sex on the young boy.

The assault was interrupted when the boy’s brother unexpectedly entered the room, bringing the incident to an abrupt end.

These assaults are believed to have taken place roughly ten years prior to their reporting, with Cook being approximately 16 or 17 years old at the time.

The allegations came to light in mid-2017 after the families of both victims independently discovered that their children had made complaints about Cook’s inappropriate behavior.

A conversation between the grandmother of the second victim and the mother of the first victim ultimately led to the police being informed of the incidents.

In September 2017, Cook was interviewed by authorities.

During the interview, he offered limited admissions but denied performing oral sex on one of the victims.

The case was brought before the court, where Cook, of Mannington Park, Swindon, pleaded guilty to charges of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and sexual assault through touching.

At the sentencing hearing, Recorder Elisabeth Bussey-Jones acknowledged Cook’s age at the time of the offenses, his developmental issues, and the fact that he had not committed any further offenses since.

She decided against an immediate prison sentence, instead imposing a two-year prison term suspended for two years.

The judge emphasized the profound impact the abuse had on the victims, stating, “These two young boys, now young men, would undoubtedly have been deeply affected by what you did.” She also ordered Cook to be subject to a two-year supervision order, complete a rehabilitation program, and adhere to a five-year restraining order that prohibits him from contacting the victims.

Additionally, Cook was placed on the sex offender register for ten years, reflecting the severity of his crimes and the lasting consequences for those affected.
