LEE ADAMS, LEEDS PREDATOR, JAILED FOR ABDUCTING AND SEXUALLY ABUSING 11-YEAR-OLD BOY
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Leeds, a man named Lee Adams has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term after a heinous incident involving the abduction and sexual assault of an 11-year-old boy. The incident took place in October of the previous year, and the details reveal a pattern of predatory behavior that spans decades.Lee Adams, aged 45 and formerly residing on Moor Crescent Chase in Beeston, Leeds, was already under close scrutiny by law enforcement authorities due to his extensive criminal history involving offenses against young boys. He was on the Sex Offenders Register and subjected to monthly police visits, highlighting the ongoing concern about his potential threat to children in the community. Despite this, Adams continued to pose a significant danger.
On October 14, 2010, Adams observed a play area from his flat window, where he deliberately targeted two boys, an 11-year-old and his nine-year-old friend. According to reports, Adams attempted to lure the children back to his flat by promising them access to an Xbox 360 gaming console, a tactic often used by predators to entice young victims. When the children hesitated, Adams's demeanor changed, and he forcibly grabbed the older boy, sneering at him with the words, “you’re not getting out of this.”
He then dragged the terrified boy approximately a quarter of a mile to his residence, where he held him captive for around four hours. During this time, Adams subjected the boy to sexual assault, an act that has left lasting trauma. The boy’s mother, concerned after her son went missing and was believed to be at Adams’s flat, contacted the police immediately. Officers responded swiftly and found the boy disoriented and confused, indicating the severity of his ordeal.
Investigations revealed DNA evidence, including saliva on the boy’s underpants and tracksuit bottoms, which linked Adams to the assault. The young victim also reported soreness in the area where he claimed Adams had touched him, and a lovebite was discovered on his neck, further corroborating the allegations. These physical signs, combined with the DNA evidence, played a crucial role in securing Adams’s conviction.
During the trial, Adams denied all charges, claiming that the boy had gone with him voluntarily and that the lovebite was given because he felt let down. However, the jury found him guilty of kidnapping, false imprisonment, and sexual assault of a child under 13. A fourth charge, administering a drug with intent, was not resolved and was ordered to lie on file.
Judge Gillian Matthews QC sentenced Adams to an indefinite term of imprisonment, with a minimum of four years before eligibility for parole. The judge emphasized the serious nature of Adams’s offenses and the ongoing risk he poses to children. She noted that Adams had expressed no remorse or responsibility for his actions and that his history of offending, which began in 1983, demonstrated a persistent pattern of predatory behavior against young boys.
In her remarks, Judge Matthews stated, “The probation officer’s report indicates that you pose a very serious and significant risk of causing serious harm to children. You wanted to return to custody in October last year as you were unable to cope with life in the community and you may have seen that as a reason to offend. You have expressed no remorse or responsibility for these offences or any desire to change.”
