MAIDSTONE OFFENDER JAILED FOR VIOLENT ASSAULTS ON PREGNANT WOMAN
A man named Lawrence Neeley has been found guilty and given a prison sentence for a series of violent attacks against his pregnant partner in Maidstone.
During August and September of the previous year, Neeley carried out several assaults, including throwing an axe at her stomach—causing bruising—and hitting her arm with the weapon.
He also injured her by slicing her chin with a knife and headbutting her.
The situation reached a turning point when the victim, while at a Maidstone bank, discreetly mouthed ‘help’ to staff, prompting her rescue and his subsequent arrest on September 5.
Today, Neeley was sentenced to two years and eight months behind bars.
Detective Constable Jozeph Yandle, involved in the investigation, commented, “Neeley committed multiple violent assaults on his pregnant partner, demonstrating little concern for her safety or emotional health, as well as that of her unborn child.
A prison term is fitting, and I hope this sentence provides some reassurance to the victim.” The police highlighted their dedication to combating violence against women and their efforts to support victims through various services.
