STALKER JAILED OVER TERRIFYING INSTAGRAM MESSAGES THREATENING TO STAB POLICEMAN
A stalker has been jailed after she became "fixated" with a Nottinghamshire policeman, bombarding him with messages on Instagram.Lauren Parker, 23, of Hall Street, Derby, sent 63 messages to his Instagram account which included threats to stab him, burn him to death, cut his throat and rape his daughter.
She posted on her own account a picture of the officer with knives and blood drawn on his throat.
Parker was sent to prison for ten months by Judge Steven Coupland, who told her the messages were deeply concerning to the officer and deeply offensive.
"What you did amounted to stalking," he said.
"This created, on the part of the police officer, a real fear you might actually act on those threats." And he said "you were fixated on him and bombarded him with messages".
Parker had six previous convictions for assaulting police officers and there had been six occasions where she had been before the courts for possessing a bladed article.
The judge imposed a restraining order, until further order, forbidding her from contacting the officer through social media or electronic means, or referring to him on social media sites, or posting or uploading images of him.
She was also banned from going to any address where it was believed the officer was present.
Prosecuting, Eunice Opare-Addo, mentioned that on June 16 the officer was contacted by the force control room about Parker attempting to contact him.
"He had never met her," said Miss Opare-Addo.
By June 24, the officer was receiving notifications from his Instagram account indicating Parker wanted to send messages.
"A large proportion contained offensive and abusive messages," added Miss Opare-Addo.
Steve Ramsell, mitigating at Nottingham Crown Court, said his client's actions were "extremely regrettable," and she wished to say she was sorry.
"There is no ongoing personal vendetta against him or the police service," he stressed.
Parker pleaded guilty to stalking, possessing cannabis, and criminal damage.
The latter charge arose from an incident at the Britannia Hotel on Maid Marian Way, where she damaged a tray, cup, and kettle after throwing a glass into the corridor, and officers found cannabis on her during arrest.
"Her reaction is, of course, unfortunate.
A mark of frustration, rather than anything else," he added.
