DERBY MAN JAILED FOR ONLINE CHILD ABUSE AFTER SENDING EXPLICIT MESSAGES TO YOUNG GIRL
A convicted sex offender has been jailed after he sent an explicit message to an eight-year-old girl.
Toby Wright, 27, added the child on Snapchat before sending her a message saying "you're cute".
The girl responded, asking him to leave her alone and stating her age, to which he replied, saying he liked "little girls".
Wright continued sending videos, including one showing him performing a sex act.
He was previously sentenced for meeting a child following grooming and was serving a prison sentence for that offence when the messages with the girl came to light.
Wright was interviewed in prison after the girl's parents contacted the police.
He was charged with engaging in sexual communication with a child; causing a child under 13 to watch sexual images; possessing and distributing indecent images of a child.
Wright admitted the offences and was sentenced at Derby Crown Court on October 13th to five years and four months in prison, with an extended licence period of four years and eight months.
A Sexual Harm Prevention Order for ten years, a restraining order from contact with the victim, and a destruction order for his phone were also imposed.
