LANDU NDONGOSI AND SACRE NGOLA FROM DAGENHAM AND KENTISH TOWN SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEX OFFENSES
In a disturbing case that has shocked the communities of Kentish Town and Dagenham, two men have been convicted of serious sexual offenses involving minors. Sacre Ngola, aged 42 and residing on Bartholomew Road in Kentish Town, was sentenced to seven years in prison after being found guilty of grooming and abusing a young girl over a period of five years. The court heard that Ngola, who is now married with children, manipulated the girl by promising to marry her, which led her to develop an infatuation with him. Over the course of their relationship, which spanned from November 1994 to October 1999, Ngola engaged in multiple acts of sexual misconduct, including sexual intercourse when the girl was just 12 years old. The judge, Aidan Marron QC, described Ngola’s behavior as a gross exploitation of an innocent child, emphasizing that he was in a position of trust and used dishonesty to obtain consent. The judge also condemned Ngola for showing no remorse, calling the girl a liar, and making sexual overtures towards her younger sister, who was only eight at the time.Details of the abuse emerged during the trial, revealing that Ngola’s initial contact with the girl occurred during a summer when she was in the kitchen washing up. He touched her breasts and made inappropriate comments about her becoming a woman. About a year later, at a family gathering, he approached her from behind and asked her to “play a game,” which involved further sexual misconduct. Ngola repeatedly visited her home, often several times a week, despite living in a hostel, and continued to abuse her over the years. The court heard that in 1999, after their relationship had ended, Ngola made further advances towards her younger sister, asking to see her naked breasts.
Meanwhile, Landu Ndongosi, also aged 42 and residing on Siviter Way in Dagenham, was sentenced to 12 months in prison after being convicted of a single count of indecent assault. The jury found that Ndongosi had witnessed Ngola kissing the girl at a New Year’s Eve party but chose not to intervene. Instead, he later made sexual advances towards the older girl, which led to his conviction. The court heard that Ndongosi’s actions included molesting the girl, and he was ordered to sign the sex offender register for ten years.
Both men, originally from Congo, denied any sexual contact with the victims, claiming that they and their families were being falsely accused. However, following a trial at Blackfriars Crown Court, the jury found them guilty of the charges. The case has brought to light the disturbing nature of grooming and sexual abuse within seemingly normal community settings, prompting ongoing discussions about safeguarding and the importance of vigilance in protecting vulnerable children.
