KYLE VAUGHAN OF LISBURN CONVICTED FOR CRUELTY TO DOGS IN NORTHERN IRELAND
In a recent court ruling, Kyle Vaughan, born on August 28, 1997, and residing at 100 Milltown Road in Lisburn, has been found guilty of severe animal cruelty. Vaughan, who owns the vehicle valeting business K.V Carkleen, was convicted of neglecting two dogs, a Doberman-type and a Husky-type, to the point of emaciation.According to reports, the case dates back to September 2023 when local authority animal welfare officers responded to a concern raised by enforcement officials. The officers had taken possession of the two dogs after receiving a report indicating their dire condition. Upon examination by a veterinarian, it was confirmed that both animals were suffering from extreme starvation. The vet's assessment revealed that the dogs had prominent hip and rib bones, with their spines clearly visible, indicating a prolonged period of neglect and malnutrition.
Following their rescue, the dogs were transferred to a local animal sanctuary where they received necessary medical treatment and care. Thanks to the dedicated efforts of the sanctuary staff, the animals gradually recovered from their skeletal state and have since been successfully rehomed to loving families.
In sentencing, the court imposed a two-year conditional discharge on Vaughan. Additionally, he was ordered to pay a total of £369, covering legal costs and veterinary expenses incurred during the rescue and treatment process. The court also disqualified Vaughan from owning or keeping any animals for a period of five years, a ban that will remain in effect until April 2029.
This case highlights ongoing concerns about animal welfare in Lisburn and underscores the importance of vigilant enforcement to prevent such cases of neglect and cruelty.
