MAN JAILED FOR 18 YEARS OVER SEXUAL OFFENCES
A man previously residing in Filey has been sentenced to 18 years in prison after confessing to sexual crimes committed against two minors.The 29-year-old, Kyle Stephenson, who currently has no fixed address, has also been ordered to abide by a lifelong sexual harm prevention order and is to be registered on the sex offenders' register permanently.
Additionally, he is to serve one year on license following his release.
Stephenson was responsible for the rape of a boy and encouraged a girl to partake in sexual acts.
He also pleaded guilty to abusing a dog, which was evidenced by video recordings police recovered.
The footage showed him engaging in sexual activity with a dog while simultaneously filming himself.
Stephenson was detained on January 31, 2021, after a complaint from the boy, and has remained in custody since his arraignment.
Police investigations confirmed that the offences occurred between that date and January 2020.
The dog involved in the abuse has since died due to illness.
