KYLE MARSAY SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULTS ON GIRL UNDER 10 IN HULL

In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Hull, two teenage boys were found guilty of heinous sexual assaults against a girl under the age of 10. The incident, which took place in March 2012, involved repeated predatory actions by the offenders, who targeted the young girl on multiple occasions.

Kyle Liam Marsay, aged 18, and a 17-year-old boy whose identity is protected by law, orchestrated a series of disturbing attacks. The court heard that both boys lured the girl into secluded areas, including a field and bushes near a local school in west Hull, where they committed their crimes. On two separate occasions, they dragged her into the bushes and sexually assaulted her, causing lasting trauma.

Additionally, Marsay lured the girl to his residence on another day under the pretense of showing her his dogs. Once inside his home, he locked the door, served her lemonade, and proceeded to sexually assault her in his bedroom. The girl recounted her fear, saying, “I just wanted to run away, but I couldn’t. I asked if I could go home and they said ‘yes, if you promise not to tell anyone,’ but I kept my fingers crossed behind my back.”

The court also heard that after the assault at his home, Marsay ordered his dogs to attack the girl’s male friend, who had been with her during the visit. The boy was bitten on the leg and, terrified, he ran home and hid under his bed. The young victim described her feelings of fear and shame, stating, “I was scared to tell people. I was frightened I would get into trouble.”

Judge James Sampson delivered the sentences, condemning Marsay for his leadership role in the crimes. Marsay was sentenced to six years in a Young Offenders’ Institute, while the younger boy received a four-year sentence. The judge emphasized the severity of their actions, stating, “You were the leader of the two. You both pursued your young victim, you exploited her and took advantage of her. The adverse impact of this experience upon her may not show itself for many years. You were both persistent in your actions.”

The jury at Hull Crown Court took just three hours to reach a unanimous verdict, convicting both boys of three counts of sexual assault. Marsay was also found guilty of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and to commit a sex act. The court acknowledged that both boys had no prior convictions, but their actions had caused significant harm.

Detective Inspector Jonathan Jeffs commented on the case, saying, “This has been a traumatic incident for the victim in this case, which has now been brought to a proper conclusion.” The court ordered both offenders to sign the Sex Offenders’ Register, ensuring ongoing monitoring of their conduct in the future.
