NORTH TYNESIDE MAN SENTENCED FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ATTACK AND PUSHING PARTNER DOWN STAIRS
The article reports that Kyle Frost, a 33-year-old man from Anne Street, Shiremoor, North Tyneside, committed a serious domestic violence assault.Frost had a history of a short relationship with the victim, during which he became violent.
According to court reports, he "suddenly flipped" when the victim was trying to console him while he was crying after receiving a message from his brother.
He then strangled her by putting both hands around her neck until she couldn't breathe.
The victim, who was left petrified, also reported that Frost punched her repeatedly in the head and face with "considerable force" as she was defending herself.
The incident escalated when her teenage son and his friend entered the scene, prompting Frost to move towards the 18-year-old son.
The woman then put herself between Frost and her son, but Frost forcefully pushed her down a full flight of stairs, causing her to crash into her son.
Frost also threw a glass vase out of the door, smashing it as she ran to a neighbor's house.
The woman suffered soreness, bruising, and stiffness and was left feeling shocked, fearful, and unsafe in her own home.
Frost pleaded guilty to charges of strangulation, assault, and criminal damage, and was sentenced to 21 months in jail and a ten-year restraining order.
The court noted that while the incident was "ugly" and of some length, Frost was considered unlikely to trouble the courts again, as he has no previous convictions and has been sober for five months.
