NORTH TYNESIDE MAN IN COURT OVER BESTIALITY PORN INVOLVING FISH
A man has appeared in court accused of having illegal porn involving sexual activity between humans and a fish.Connor Smith was allegedly found with the material on his phone when it was seized by police in North Tyneside in February 2023.
The South East Northumberland Magistrates' Court heard that the suspected porn involved a man, a woman, and a fish.
Smith, 29, was in the dock this week to face one count of possessing extreme pornographic images portraying an act of intercourse with a dead or live animal.
The charge stated: "On February 5 2023 you possessed an extreme pornographic image, which portrayed, in an explicit and realistic way, a person performing an act of intercourse with an animal, namely a fish, which was grossly offensive, disgusting or otherwise of an obscene character, and a reasonable person looking at the image would think that such a person or animal was real." Prosecutor Rehana Haque indicated that "This is a case that, we think, could be dealt with in these courts." Mark Harrison, defending, said: "We don't argue in terms of jurisdiction.
It's a straightforward matter and we would also say it's suitable for summary trial." Smith, of Charles Street in Leicester, pleaded not guilty to the charge and chose to have his trial heard at the crown court.
He was sent to Newcastle Crown Court and released on bail to next appear there on October 14 for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
