KRISTIAN PETIK CAUGHT IN CHATHAM CAR PARK SEX SCANDAL AND DISTRIBUTION OF ILLEGAL IMAGES

In May 2019, a disturbing incident unfolded in the town of Chatham, where Kristian Petik, a 19-year-old originally from Slovakia, was involved in filming a sexual act involving a 16-year-old girl in a car park adjacent to the Pentagon Centre. The incident was not only recorded but also shared with others, leading to serious legal consequences for Petik.

According to court proceedings at Maidstone Crown Court, Petik was found guilty of four separate offenses related to the taking and distribution of illegal images of a minor. The court heard that he had captured footage of the sexual act performed by the young girl, who was a schoolgirl at the time, and subsequently sent two videos of the act to his friends. One of these recipients, described as acting responsibly, reported the matter to the police, which initiated an investigation into the case.

The judge, Adele Williams, described Petik’s actions as “showing off of the worst kind,” emphasizing the malicious intent behind the recording and sharing of the images. The court also learned that the sexual act was performed on a friend of Petik’s, David Spiridon, who was later convicted of raping another teenage girl in the same multi-storey car park on the same day. Spiridon, who was 16 at the time, was sentenced to nine years in youth custody for his crime.

Prosecutor Christopher May detailed the emotional and psychological toll on the victim, who reported feeling humiliated, embarrassed, and dirty following the incident. She also expressed that her education had been negatively impacted, and she felt a sense of worthlessness in the aftermath of the events. The court was told that the incident was not only an act of exploitation but also an attempt to humiliate and exert control over the young girl, with the judge noting that Petik’s actions were driven by bravado.

In response to the severity of the offenses, Judge Williams imposed a six-year sexual harm prevention order on Petik, aiming to protect others from similar harm in the future. Petik’s residence was identified as Chamberlain Road, where he was living at the time of the sentencing. The case highlights the dangers of online sharing of illicit images and the devastating impact such actions can have on victims, especially minors caught in exploitative situations in public spaces like the Chatham car park.
