KRIS FLYNN FROM HUYTON SENTENCED FOR CRUELTY TO DOGS IN FAZAKERLEY AND LIVERPOOL

Kris Flynn, a resident of Parbrook Road in Huyton, Liverpool, was found guilty of neglecting his pet dogs, leading to severe suffering and starvation. The incident came to light when Merseyside Police entered Flynn's home on December 5, 2019, during an unrelated investigation. What they discovered inside was a heartbreaking scene: two dogs, named Pepper and Skye, were living in deplorable conditions, emaciated and covered in their own urine and faeces.

Flynn, who also maintained connections to Fazakerley in north Liverpool, had left his animals in a state of extreme neglect. The police officers who entered the property reported that the house was filled with rubbish, dirty clothes, unwashed dishes, and rotting food. The overwhelming smell of urine and faeces permeated the air, highlighting the squalor in which the animals had been kept.

Upon discovery, the officers immediately seized the dogs and transported them to a nearby veterinary clinic for urgent medical attention. The RSPCA was also alerted to the situation, and Inspector Kathryn Kellegher was dispatched to assess the condition of Pepper and Skye. The dogs were taken to the RSPCA’s Greater Manchester Animal Hospital for treatment.

Veterinary assessments revealed the extent of the neglect. Pepper, a lurcher, was found to have a body condition score of just 2 out of 7, weighing only 7 kilograms, with her bones clearly visible through her skin. Skye, a mastiff, was in an even worse state, with a body condition score of just 1 and an initial weight of 13.6 kilograms. Both dogs were severely underweight and weak, with Skye lacking the energy to walk properly.

Over the following weeks, under the care of the RSPCA, both dogs gradually regained weight and strength. Their coats improved, and they showed signs of recovery, thanks to proper nutrition and medical treatment. Once they reached a healthier state, the dogs were put up for adoption. Inspector Kellegher expressed her satisfaction that Pepper and Skye had found new, caring homes, stating, “Once they were in full health, they were rehomed.”

Kris Flynn, who is a father of one, pleaded guilty to charges of failing to provide his dogs with a safe environment and adequate diet. The court sentenced him to pay a total of £852 in fines and ordered a ban on keeping animals for a period of ten years. Flynn’s known addresses include Drake Place and Ladysmith Road in Fazakerley, Liverpool, in addition to his residence in Huyton.

This case highlights the importance of animal welfare laws and the ongoing efforts of authorities and charities like the RSPCA to protect vulnerable animals from neglect and cruelty.
