CANNOCK WOMAN CONVICTED OF CHRISTMAS MURDER OF EX-PARTNER
A woman named Kirsty Carless, aged 33 from Cannock, has been convicted of the murder of her ex-partner Louis Price. The incident occurred during the early hours of 25 December at Price's parents' residence in Norton Canes.
Court reports indicate that Carless stabbed Price in the heart in an attack driven by anger and jealousy, which was reportedly fueled by cocaine and alcohol.
This act was prompted after a friend sent her a picture of Price's Tinder profile, igniting her fury.
Carless, who had previously been on police bail for strangling Price the month prior, took a taxi back to her home, where she picked up a kitchen knife.
She then arranged another taxi to Price's parents' house, expecting to find him with a woman.
CCTV footage captured her sprinting into the house and following Price through the garden.
Price was later found with a single stab wound to his chest.
She made 45 calls to him between 2.15am and 2.44am, waiting for her taxi, and arrived at his address around 3am.
She asked the taxi driver to wait outside while she entered the property, after which a loud scream was heard.
Carless, described as anxious and sweating, returned to her parents' home and confessed her actions, leading to police being called.
Price, a father of six, was considered to be at very high risk of domestic abuse, and Carless was on police bail at the time of the stabbing.
He had also reported an incident in November 2024 where Carless strangled him, describing the relationship as "generally abusive." Multiple police incidents had been previously recorded involving violence and threats.
In her court testimony, Carless claimed she had no memory of stabbing Price, and insisted she was not a violent person.
She stated she only went to his house because she believed he had taken money from a card she kept at her home, and that she panicked after stabbing him before fleeing.
The judge announced that Carless would be sentenced on the following Thursday.
